Tracey Ramsey's Vancouver Island TPP Town Hall Tour

Join MP and NDP Official Critic for Trade, Tracey Ramsey for an in-depth discussion on the Trans-Pacific Partnership. This new trade deal, which was negotiated in secret, threatens to kill up to 60,000 good Canadian jobs, stifle innovation and hurt Canadian farmers.   

Tracey Ramsey, a Unifor sister,  will rock Vancouver Island with her tour.  Attend at least one of these events.

Say No to CETA Rally

October 17, 2011 Organizers and activists stand on the steps of the B.C. Legislature along with MLA's who support the "Say No to CETA" rally participants. Approximately 30 members from Locals 111, 333 and 114 participated in the event and were later introduced to the house by MLA Mable Elmore.

MAUDE BARLOW What you don’t know about a deal you haven’t heard of


In coming days, Canadian and European officials will intensify negotiations on a new trade agreement most Canadians have never heard of. The Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement is by far the largest free-trade deal this country has ever undertaken.
If it goes through, CETA will open up the rules, standards and public spending priorities of provinces and municipalities to direct competition and challenge from European corporations. Ottawa refuses to even discuss the environmental implications, but a recent trade sustainability impact assessment commissioned by the European Commission has sounded alarms in several areas.
