Election Day B.C. November 19, 2011

British Columbia Municipal Elections 2011

On November 19th, 2011 British Columbia votes.  CAW Local 114 supports and participates in Labour Councils throughout the province.  Labour Councils have been busy vetting and endorsing candidates for School Board and City Councils.  Candidate endorsements are taken seriously.  It is hoped that those who are endorsed share many of the values, we as Labour consider important for ourselves, our families and communities.  Please make a point of assisting in a campaign and spread the word with your co-workers, neighbors, family and friends.

The most important thing you can do is vote!
The second most important thing is to encourage others to vote!

The New Westminster & District Labour Council including Burnaby, Delta, Langley Township,  Langley City,  Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, New Westminster, Surrey, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody endorsements can be found here.

Nanaimo, Duncan and District Labour Council Including Parksville, Nanaimo,  Duncan and District of North Cowichan can be found here.

Victoria Labour Council including Central Saanich, City of Colwood, City of Langford, District of North Saanich, District of Oak Bay, District of Saanich, School District #62 (Sooke), City of Victoria, School District #61 (Greater Victoria) can be found here.

Below is the speech I gave.  First time speaking in public so the delivery could have been better but the message to all is "Get out and get involved in in the upcoming civic elections.  School boards and city councils will be Labour's opportunity to send a message to Ottawa that we don't like government interference in the collective bargaining process. Make a difference get involved.  Run as a candidate or volunteer for somone who does. -- Jim Sadlemyer Vancouver Island Member at Large --
