Public Hearing Vancouver City Hall Thursday February 17th


CAW Local 3000 represents workers at the Edgewater Casino in Vancouver.
On Thursday February 17th at 7:30 pm at Vancouver City Hall there is going to be a public hearing into the proposed casio expansion.
This is a very important expansion for our sisters and brothers at Edgewater Casino.

Public Hearing: February 17

Have your say. Attend a Public Hearing on Thursday, February 17 at 7:30 pm City Hall, 453 West 12th Avenue Third Floor, Council Chamber to consider zoning, official development plan, and sign by-law amendments for these locations:
. 777 Pacific Boulevard (Hotel/Entertainment/Casino Complex)To rezone from BCPED (BC Place/Expo District) to CD-1 (Comprehensive Development) District to permit a mixed-use hotel/entertainment/casino complex with two hotels, restaurants, a theatre, and a cabaret. The proposal also includes the relocation and expansion of the Edgewater Casino.
Anyone who considers themselves affected by the proposed by-law amendments may speak at the Public Hearing. Please register individually by telephone before 5 pm, February 17, by calling 604.873.7191. You may also register in person at the door between 7 and 7:30 pm before the hearing. Individuals may also submit their comments by mail to Mayor and Council, City of Vancouver, 453 West 12th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V5Y 1V4, or by e-mail to mayorandcouncil@vancouver.ca.
Correspondence received by the City Clerk’s Office will be distributed to Mayor and Council at the Public Hearing. Copies of the draft by-laws are available for viewing at the City Clerk’s Department in City Hall, 453 West 12th Avenue, Third Floor or in the Planning Department, East Wing of City Hall, Third Floor, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Public Hearings are special meetings of City Council that are held to consider rezoning matters and heritage designations. City Council must hold a Public Hearing before Council can change a zoning by-law. Learn more
All meetings of Council are webcast. The minutes to the Public Hearing meetings are available on the Council Meeting web page approximately two days following the conclusion of the meeting.
